Here we report on the success of our Adoption Days, held
monthly in Modesto, San Rafael, Pleasant Hill and Lodi, and on other events
we have attended. Thanks to everyone who has come out to see us and the
dogs, and who has adopted a German Shepherd during one of the Adoption
Days!
Modesto Adoption Day - May 6, 2006
It was a beautiful day in Modesto for the volunteers and dogs. The weather was perfect and the adoptions were a plenty!
The faithful that attended were: Gary, Susan W., June, April, Debbie, Jody, Bruce, Terri, Bev, Burt, Marla, Jayne, Miz and new volunteer Jim Ellington of Discovery Bay.
The dogs adopted on the final count as of Tuesday morning is 8!
They being:
Chivas to Rueben and Erica
Delano and Delana to Ed of San Ramon (note he took 2!)
Midas to Juan A. of Oakland
Emily Ann to Vannessa P. of Turlock
harvey to Diane K of Durham
Rockhouse to Lee and Carol H. of Modesto
Miss Chole to Matt and Kerry W. of Madera
Jody and Jayne are predicting adoptions for Tackle and Fiona too.
Thanks to all volunteers in the organization in every capacity for end result of getting our dogs placed at adoption day.

San Rafael Adoption Day - April 8, 2006
Well the weather was pretty decent and we got 3 adoptions in the bag
(plus a couple in the wings):
10 year-old senior Barney went to his fosterer Diana
White knight, Byron went to a S.F. couple (thanks Allison K for HV)
A Novoto couple come to see Nellie Bly and fell in love. Max did the
HV on the way home and that was a done deal.
Additionally . . .
A Santa Rosa couple is committed to Diana, fostered by Mary Louise.
Presume that adoption will close when HV is completed.
An Atherton couple came up and said that they had seen a black GSD at
the Fremont shelter on Saturday and went back to adopt him on Tuesday
and were told that GSRNC had dibs on him. We put them in touch with
JJ on a cell phone (who had pulled and was fostering the dog) and Bob
J. did the home visit on the way home. We'll take credit for this
one too!!

Pleasant Hill Adoption Day - April 15, 2006
PHAD proved to be a pleasant day. The weather cooperated with us, we had lots of PAs and visitors. Of course the volunteers also made it a great day.
Dogs joining us were: Phoebe, Tatum and Ryan O'Heel, Baroness, Silicon Rex, Hollywood and Babe. And they all had a lot to say to one another; they were very vocal.
Hollywood had serious interest from a very experienced couple; Bob is working with them.
Tatum was a lucky girl; she went home with Kevin R from Martinez.
Silicon Rex is adoption pending to Dawn O and husband in Martinez; they get Sili Rex from Brigitte today.
Completed adoption paperwork was turned in for Duke Law, who now lives in Atherton with Craig and Denise E.

Los Gatos Adoption Day - April 22, 2006
Hello Everybody!
We had an excellent day between the nice weather, the fabulous dogs,
enthusiastic volunteers, solid PAs and anniversary goodies.
We finalized 5 adoptions today - surprisingly all girls. Those who
found their forever homes were:
Margo - Jill R of Fremont
Daska - Judy L of San Francisco
Diana - Catlin T of Santa Rosa
Anna - Ann M of San Jose
Monterey Mist - Helen & Newton H of Santa Cruz
Not lacking for admirers were Ashley, Thunderbear, Roadie, Midas,
Buddy Snowball and Parker.

Lodi Adoption Day - April 22, 2006
Hi All,
We had a great adoption day in Lodi this past Saturday. Lots of interested potential adopters and lovely dogs ready to find their forever homes. We even had the 1000th Adoption as confirmed by Joan and June, who by the way was Voodoo who could of not been more deserving to finally find her forever home with new adoptive parents and brother, Vito.

Phoebe Buffay - to fosterer Jayne N. whose husband finally decided that this baby girl belonged in their home (Alan's a big softie).
Voodoo - Thomas & Kimberly C. - (Sue A's first PA's to finalize an adoption) 4/22/06. Our 1000th adoption for the group.
